Milk is known for its variety of benefits be it skin, bones, metabolism or health. In ancient times, Milk was the only food supplement that humans used to stay healthy. Milk is also used to make our skin healthy, glowing and flawless. I personally love to use milk on my skin because its easily available, affordable and natural. Milk is rich in B-vitamins, alpha hydroxy acids, calcium and other potent antioxidants, has so many skin benefits! It will nourish skin cells from deep within and keep skin moisturized all day. If you’ve got acneic skin, it will gently exfoliate and gradually cure your acne. It helps in skin whitening, brightening, reduces blemishes, dark spots and makes skin soft and supple.
Here are few of my personal favorite ways to use Milk on my skin.
RAW MILK –
It is the most easy, effective and hassle free method to use milk on my skin. Simply just take a cotton ball or cotton pad dip it in milk & apply it on your face. Leave it on for 15minutes and then wash off, with cold water. You can use it as a daily cleanser, it will remove all the dirt, gunk & grime from your face.
You can use it daily or 3-4 times, whatever you are comfortable with.
Also raw milk comes loaded with proteins, enzymes, lactic acid that it can be used as a fairness cream.
MILK with Oatmeal –
Milk with oatmeal is a very good substitute for homemade scrubs, you can use it on your face as well as on your body too. It removes all the dirt from the skin and I personally love to use it. But if you are an oily skin baby then don’t use full cream milk instead use toned milk, it will give you better results.
How to use it? Take 2tbsp. of oatmeal and mix it with 4tbsp of milk, apply it on your face for 15-20minutes until dry. Then, scrub it off with cold water .
MILK WITH HONEY –
If you have extreme dry skin then this method is a boon for you. Take equal proportion of milk and honey and mix them well. Apply it on your skin for 15-20minutes then wash off, with cold water. It will make your skin soft & supple.
Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. Honey is full of antioxidants; it is great for slowing down aging. It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps to create a glow.
Milk with Tomato juice –
tomato juice helps in increasing fairness, balancing pH, tightening pores, treating sunburn, reducing irritation and curing acne. When mixed with milk it helps to enhance its properties and adds moisturisation to skin. Also some people find that tomato juice leaves a tingling or burning sensation of skin because of its acidic content in it. So to overcome this, use tomato juice with milk, it will reduce the burning sensation.
How to use it? Mix 2:1 ratio of tomato juice: milk i.e. 2tbsp of tomato juice with 1tbsp. of milk and apply it on your face.
You can use it for 2-3 times a week.
MILK WITH GRAM FLOUR –
If you are from oily skin type, then this method is a boon for you, mix 1 part of milk with 2 parts of gram flour/ besan i.e. 1tbsp of milk with 2tbsp. of gram flour and use it to wash your face, scrub it or you can leave it on as a face mask. Besan or gram flour helps in micro exfoliation of skin and milk helps in moisturization of skin.
You can use this method every day & will definitely see the difference in a week. Continue using it for as long as you desire. It is a natural method so it won’t damage your skin.
MILK WITH RICE FLOUR –
Rice flour is a very popular and magical ingredient of Korean skincare. You can get it easily in the market or simply take some amount of rice and grind it into fine powder. Rice flour helps in skin whitening, tightening, reducing acne, reduces blemishes & dark spots.
How to use it? Simply just mix equal proportion of rice flour and milk until the desired consistency & slather it onto your face. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes until dry, then gently scrub it off and wash off with cold water.
