Glutathione is an anti-oxidant which is found in plants, animals, fungi and some bacteria. We humans, also synthesize glutathione in the liver. Though poor diet, pollution, toxins, drugs, stress, trauma, radiation and other factors reduce the effect of glutathione. Some anti-melanogenic properties of glutathione are discovered which leads to its huge promotions as a skin lightening agent.

What are the ways to use Glutathione?

Glutathione can be used in the form of tablets or pills taken orally, as lotions, soaps and creams applied on the surface of skin and also in the injectable form.

Does Glutathione really work in skin whitening?

Everyone has different skin and everything reacts differently so what might work for you may not work for others and vice versa. Glutathione is an antioxidant which means it sucks the toxins of the body. In some people glutathione works and for some it did not. For some people, glutathione improved the skin tone and texture, reduced pigmentation, blemishes and spots.

Some people even say that these effects are temporary till the time glutathione is taken. Once the intake is stopped the effects revert back.

Is it safe to take Glutathione?

First of all, everyone should love their skin and colour, it is the time when the world is progressing and we are still stuck at such lame topics. According to me, you should always look for the natural options first and use them. If they don’t work, then you can go for topical applications but taking injections of glutathione without the consent of a dermatologist is not advisable.

Side Effects of Glutathione

It may cause rashes and allergies in some people. Some users complaint of nausea, dizziness, vomiting and indigestion. If taken in the form of injections, it may react to kidney and liver which could be lethal. So, I would suggest to first look out for natural ways then opt for topical application. Glutathione injections should never be taken without the consent of a doctor. Also if you are suffering from any disease then I would suggest to stay away from such products.
