WHAT IS AHA, BHA AND PHA? A DETAILED DESCRIPTION FOR ACIDS, HOW AND WHERE THEY ARE USED? WHICH IS GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN?

You might have heard about these acids exfoliants like AHA, BHA and PHA by many beauty bloggers but many people are still confused as to which acid is used where and what is good for their skin. So here is my little piece of information on AHA, BHA and PHA which could be useful for you. So, please keep on reading.

AHA

Alpha Hydroxy Acids or AHA are the group of acids which are found naturally in fruits and milk. AHA includes acids like glycolic acid which in chemical exfoliation of the skin. It also helps in regeneration of skin cells which is good for people who are undergoing the process of ageing and needs new skin cells in order to achieve younger skin.

AHA helps in removing the dead skin layer and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It is used as an anti-ageing substance in various skin care products. AHA also helps in treating pigmentation, sun damage and evens skin tone and texture.

It also helps in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and evens out scars and blemishes. AHA is best suited for people who have mature skin.

BHA

Beta Hydroxy Acids or BHA include acids like salicylic acid. BHA is commonly found in aspirin and has anti-inflammatory properties so it can be used to treat skin problems like inflammation and acne. BHA helps to unclog pores and works great for oily skin.

BHA also helps in treating sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps in treating blackheads, whiteheads and acne.

BHA is good for oily skin people.

PHA

Poly Hydroxy Acids or PHA is a slow acting acid which works magically for sensitive skin people. It reduces skin irritation and redness. PHA is a mild acid and penetrates more deep into the skin. It is a perfect acid for sensitive skin and also helps in the treatment of conditions like eczema.

PHA helps in locking moisture into the skin and also has anti-oxidant properties.
